Brief summary of the item: It is the year 2005. Decepticon Transformers have driven the Autobots from their homeworld of Cybertron. The heroic Autobots are planning a fuel-run from Earth. Meanwhile a new force in the universe that devours planets is heading toward Cybertron
Good Points: Quite possibly the BEST animated film ever made. Short, but seems much longer. Introduces many new characters such as Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Unicron and Wheely.

Incredible animation and soundtrack. Emotion-stirring (for kids anyway).

Imaginative and original.

Action-packed.
Bad Points: Only that the subsquent series failed to live up the movie on a grand scale. Nothing has been as good since.
General Comments: The Special Edition DVD shows both the US and UK openings to the film, has a very interesting commentary by a renowned Tranformers fan and an interview with Peter Cullen
