Brief summary of the item: A special two part adaptation shown on Sky One bringing to life the story from Terry Pratchett's best selling novel, Hogfather.
In Discworld, it's the night before Hogswatch (like our Christmas) and the Hogfather is missing. But if the presents aren't delivered the sun will not rise. So another supernatural entity has stepped in...Death. While his Ho Ho Ho could do with some work, his granddaughter, Susan has to find the real Hogfather. Will there be enough belief in the Hogfather to make the sun come up?
Good Points: This is definitely quite funny in places, especially with David Jason, who plays Death's assistant Albert, bringing out the funny side of Death. Although David Jason is not the lead character, there is enough of him to make you laugh. he plays the supporting role very well.
Marc Warren, who plays Mr. Teatime, makes the personality fit perfectly with the look of the character and fits well in the fantasy world of Discworld.
It's definitely worth watching if only for the character, Death. Ian Richardson (voice of death) has the perfect voice for this role and makes it exciting and believable to watch. He's definitely not what you expect.
The second bonus dvd is worth watching if you want to know how all of the special effects were done.
Bad Points: It can be a bit long to watch all at once, but at least the dvd gives you a choice as to whether you want to watch it in two parts or one.
General Comments: If you're into fantasy stories then you should give this a go. I'm not really into fantasy stories from a book, but on dvd, this was great and I would recommend it for both children and adults.
