Relevant Information: The 5th movie in the Harry Potter series, based on the book by J.K. Rowling
Brief summary of the item: Daniel Radcliffe reprises his role as Harry Potter in the 5th movie in the series, along with Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger.
After the events of the 4th movie, Harry's claims that Lord Voldermort has returned are stifled by the Ministry of Magic.

Good Points: Fantastic storyline. Radcliffe is very convincing as a slightly older Harry and is well supported by Watson and Grint (Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley).
Evanna Lynch is brilliant as Luna Lovegood.

Bad Points: Doesn't quite convey the mood of the book in certain places.
General Comments: The movie kicks off with Harry being attacked by the Dementors. These are much scarier looking than in previous films and look much more like Rowling intended them to.

Rather than be applauded for scaring them off with a magical spell, Harry is threatened with expulsion from Hogwarts for performing magic in front of a muggle.

The Ministry of Magic are on a personal attack against both Harry and Professor Dumbledore and will do anything to discredit Harry's claims that Lord Voldermort has returned.

As Dolores Umbridge from the Ministry of Magic takes more and more control of Hogwarts, Harry and his friends decide to fight back, training in secret for the dangers ahead. Will they be caught? Is it too late? You'll just have to watch the film and see.....

As a final note, a mention should be made of Evanna Lynch who plays Luna Lovegood. She is absolutely hysterical and plays the character perfectly.

The movie is much darker than the previous movies, and she brings some light heartedness to what would otherwise be a dark and sad (in places) movie.

A must see for all Potter fans young and old!!!

Good Points: The acting had certainly improved from the previous films - I saw Daniel Radcliffe in Equus and he was quite good, so i hoped he would get better on screen too.
I liked the way the fight scene was done in the ministry, even though it was quite different from the book.
Helena Bonham-Carter as Bellatrix was genius, and i can't believe she wasn't their first choice!

Bad Points: I understand certain things have to be cut out of a film that is adapted from a book, but seriously, having read all the books there are some cuts/changes that SHOULD NOT have been made. It's going to mess up the other films now as there will be gaps in the story or vital parts changed in the future.
In the book, the kids get injured pretty badly in the ministry, and it made no sense to me that they all walked away without more than a scratch on them - Ginny breaks her ankle, Neville breaks his nose, Ron gets attacked by weird brain things, Hermione almost dies!! COME ON! Something out of those could have been included.
They also skipped the whole thing about Neville being part of the prophecy! Gah!
The Order should have been in it way more - they were good!
Also, Emma Watson needs to learn to control her eyebrows - they just shouldn't be THAT emotive!

General Comments: Ok, you have to watch the films as separate from the books or you get annoyed about the differences. I do feel this film is the best so far, helped by the improved acting. I hope the final two films will be done better, darker and with the important parts kept in.
