Relevant Information: Playstation 2 Brief summary of the item: When Spyro, a young dragon, leaves his home in search of the truth about his past, he finds a shocking discovery - the fate of the world rests on his wings. In a race against time, Spyro must realize his destiny and unlock the explosive powers that lie within if he is to put an end to the mysterious black dragon, Cynder! Good Points: Spyro's got some new moves! He's definitely more of a fighter than an explorer now. His breath attacks have been improved, with the opportunity to keep on upgrading them throughout the game using Spirit Gems that you will collect along the way. There's no more getting lost in Spyro games as this one is pretty straight forward. Just keep going the only way you can and fight lots of enemies along the way. There is definitely a lot more humour in this Spyro game with your trusty sidekick, Sparx. I didn't know a dragonfly could be so funny. An unusual, but funny, aspect has been added to the game whereas every single enemy that you fight has his very own name. These weird names can bring a smile to your face as you're pulverising the poor fellow. Bad Points: It's nothing like any of the previous Spyro games. There are no items to look for and nowhere to explore. All of the game consists of fighting. This can get extremely boring after a while as there is not much variation, especially if you don't collect enough Spirit Gems to upgrade your breaths. The cut scenes can be a bit too long and frequent in places, so if you want to hear the full story remember where you put down the controller. General Comments: There is hardly any challenge to completing this game, but I can understand someone playing it once if they are a Spyro fan. You get to see the story and it's fun to play around with his new moves at first. If you are into the exploration side of Spyro then i will definitely not recommend this to you. All this game involves is walking through the worlds fighting. I never thought I would say this, but i miss Moneybags and the annoying little egg thieves! User reviews
