Item Summary
This is the first device that HTC released under the HTC brand, the majority of their products are released under the brand QTEK. It runs Windows Mobile 5.

Good Points
Fast 400 mhz Samsung Processor
2 Megapixel Camera
Push Email
Good battery life
Large high quality touch screen
Jog wheel makes using one handed easy
Wifi and 3G enabled
Texting is easy thanks to the qwerty keyboard

Bad Points
Possibly a little too bulky
Screen is sometimes slow to respond when opened/closed

General Comments

I've had this device for 6 months now. Overall I'm very impressed.

Lets start with what you're getting for your money. This may vary slightly depending where you purchase it, but as a general guide you can expect the following out of the box:

- HTC TyTN Pocket PC Phone
- Headset/Hands-Free Kit
- USB Sync Cable
- User Manual/Quick Start Guide
- Getting Started CD
- Leather Case
- Spare Stylus
- AC Mains Charger

Surprisingly one thing it doesn't come with is a memory card. It takes microSD or Transflash cards, and these are quite cheap to get so this is not a big problem.

The device is made almost entirely of plastic, apart from a metal trim around the front screen. There are no buttons along the top of it, which is unusual for most mobile phones. The right hand side contains the power button, the comms manager button and the camera button. On the underside we have the infrared port, the mini-usb port (used for charging/headphones etc) and the battery cover catch. Finally on the left is the microSD slot, a voicenotes button and the Jog wheel.

Typically for a Windows device it takes quite a while to boot up, but once it's running things run very smoothly.

Some of it's main features include:

- 3G video calling (network dependent)
- 2 cameras. A main 2 megapixel one and a small vga one used for video calling.
- Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and WiFi connectivity
- Push Email (Network Dependent)
- Sliding Qwerty keyboard
- WCDMA and HSDPA enabled
- 400 mhz processor
- 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM
- Mini usb port

As it is running Windows Mobile 5, there is no end to the amound of third party applications you can run. It is possible to find an application to do almost anything. It comes preinstalled with Windows Media Player, Word, Excel and Powerpoint Mobile as well as Internet Explorer.

Overall while not cheap, this is certainly a device worth considering.
